Random late night stuff.
So I was sitting here watching episodes of Californication on Netflix because I can’t sleep and I thought I would share some random things with my blog not so public.
I looked at my Analytics for the blog and found that since January 1, 2010 this blog has been visited by 707 absolute unique visitors, from 37 countries. People in Indonesia are spending an average of 8 minutes here (the highest BTW). Yo, America, what’s up? Hey Jakarta, call me I’d love to come shoot your wedding!
In the US, we have visitors from every state but 4. Rhode Island, Vermont, South and North Dakota. Not surprising really, I’ve never taken pictures in any of those states. But then I haven’t shot in most of the other ones either… LOL, go figure. Claremont, New Hampshire is the place with the most time on site on average with 12 minutes. Wow, I think they read everything… The state and place with the most visits total is of course… San Fransisco because once again I shoot there all the time. No, oops, that’s Colorado not S.F. And actually San Jose beat out San Fran. I have no idea why.
Aren’t web stats strange? You can learn all kinds of crazy stuff about what people are looking for and yet find out nothing in particular, like why people are actually looking. Like, here is a weird stat. Someone searched for “jerry shyong” twice and spent 5 minutes average on the blog. Who is jerry shyong? Well I second shot Jerry and Lady Alice’s wedding at the Bear Dance Golf Course a couple years back. Or, Someone searched for “crazy engagement pictures” back in March and spent 27 minutes on the blog. I looked till page 10 and couldn’t find a link to here, maybe Iwas ranked higher back then? The most popular search term is “wedding photos cathedral basilica denver”, I haven’t shot a wedding there since last summer though.
This year however I have shot at Mt. Princeton Hot Springs, Pinehurst Country Club, The Pines at Genesee, Granby and the Devil’s Thumb Ranch and Rockland Community Church in Genesee. I’ll be shooting at the Phipps mansion, Arrowhead Golf Club and the All-Saints Episcopal in Loveland this coming week. Starts tomorrow with the Phipps. That’ll most likely be my one and only time since they have sold the Phipps mansion to some very rich person to be a private residence again. Uh, wow? Bummer for us wedding photographers though, it’s a pretty place. I am looking forward to this summer of photographic fun, I’ll be shooting weddings and seniors and it should be quite the adventure. I can truly say that I have never enjoyed a job more than this one. I get to hang out with really cool people and take really cool pictures of them. How cool is that?
So no blog post on a photographers site is complete without a picture so I’ll leave you here with one. I took this at one of my favorite places in Colorado. I want to live right here on this spot. Hmmmm

P.S. Just so you know, I love gardening. There is just nothing better than working in the garden, watching things grow and then eating vegetables that actually have flavor and are totally organic and packed with all the goodness that the sun, water and dirt can provide. And with that, adieu.
